ya'll forreal... wtf??
We opened a HAIR SALON. I know, I know... I was complaining about how busy I was running Wallie Wax AND Poppy & Vine but hear me out.
I met Hannah Weber. She came to me wanting to expand her services from hair to facials and waxing. She started one day a week since she was full time at her other Salon. I knew I'd love to have the space for Hannah to do her whole thang, hair and all. We just didn't have the room at Wallie Wax, but you know what I did have? A commercial property that used to be a salon that I had Poppy's in until we outgrew it.
It was too good, an easy transition. I told her I couldn't own it alone, I wanted her to co-own it with me, make it all her own. My job was the branding, marketing, bookings, etc. We expanded off Wallie Wax to create Wallie Hair Co.
Two locations. Full service Salon. 145 & 230 S Santa Fe.
We hired our first Hairstylist, Hollybel. She just moved here from Colorado and we met and instantly clicked. She shares our same values & vision. We want an inclusive space similar to Wallie Wax.
I just want to share all the success and I can't help it when I find people who I wholeheartedly believe in. Do ya'll know how fucking amazing it feels that I've created spaces for 7 solo beauty professionals to run their businesses successfully? I wouldn't have this gorgeous spa or salon if it wasn't for Angel, Peri, Dani, Marisol, Dakota, Hannah, Hollybel and Emma.
Where would I be if I hadn't taken the risk opening Wallies? I'd be a solo esti, books still closed, turning everyone away because I was overworked. Making BANK. and having little responsibility other than taking care of my clients. But I saw something bigger, a space unlike anything this town/state has ever seen.
I'm ready for the slow down, to help my girls continue to successfully run their businesses, for Poppy's to keep the pace & I cut back my schedule. I feel good knowing I've always done everything with the purest intentions, not lead with greed. I feel good knowing I've made an impact, changed the way a lot of salons do their menus to be more gender friendly, pushing people out of those old Salon norms.
I love ya'll, until next time.
xoxo
The Salina Esthetician

Wow, what a story! We’ve all had those moments where we just need to escape the chaos and find some peace and quiet. In my professional life, I’m actually in the business of creating that silence through Marine soundproofing. After a date like that, I think anyone would appreciate the serenity that comes with high-quality Marine Noise Insulation. Thanks for the laughs—definitely a 'WTF' moment!"
This is such an inspiring story of growth and community! It’s incredible to see how taking a risk and believing in the right people led to the creation of an inclusive, full-service salon that supports so many local professionals. Moving from a solo practice to building a space that challenges old norms and prioritizes gender-friendly menus is a huge achievement. Your dedication to leading with pure intentions and creating opportunities for others truly shines through.

It’s so empowering to read about your journey and the incredible space you’ve built for other beauty professionals. Taking that leap from being a solo esthetician to creating a thriving salon is such an inspiration for anyone looking to make a real impact in their industry. While I’m exploring ways to stay motivated and inspired by success stories like yours, I’ve also been diving into a new Book series that captures that same spirit of growth and ambition. For those who appreciate a narrative with strong, transformative themes—similar to the energy of the Black Angel stories—it’s a great way to recharge. Thank you for being so open about the "hustle" and the heart behind your business!
It is truly inspiring to see how you have expanded from a solo esthetician to creating inclusive spaces for other beauty professionals to thrive.
